My 98-year-old mother-in-law is a 'character' and was very resistant to having any help but she needed it to help her live independently for as long as possible (which is what she wanted). Praise and her team introduced themselves very tactfully and soon MIL greatly looked forward to visits. It was very person - centred care with an emphasis on maintaining dignity. Carers managed difficult situations with aplomb and Praise helped me not to completely lose my sense of humour. I felt a lot more confident and less alone with Myrtle Care helping me manage. As well as at-home care Myrtle also took MIL to regular medical appointments, which was a huge help. Like a lot of people arranging a care package for the first time I had no idea what to expect,  however after a phonecall to Myrtle they took the time to answer any questions I had and helped me understand the steps needed to put a care plan in place.

I was also worried like some others  about the horror stories you hear regarding carers but I have found Myrtle care to be punctual helpful, reliable and friendly which is really important to me since I work full time and its reassuring to know that they are arriving as I go to work to get mum ready for the day.

Our situation is slightly unique in that I was looking for people who would encourage and support my mum to do the things she used to be able to do and not just do them for her. This is one of the key values of the company and it reassuring to see the girls do things to keep mums mind active and make her smile.
Owing to mums dementia, we have a small team of carers who visit so its not too confusing for her. It feels like each carer brings their own personal touch to things with mum and together they bring an extremely well rounded approach to the visits throughout the week.

These guys looked after my bed bound father at home with a team of two visiting four times a day and I cant thank them enough for the fantastic care they gave him. All of the staff were great, friendly, respectful and diligent, doing a difficult job but always with a smile on their face. They were a pleasure to have around and made the experience for my dad and all of us, so easy. The manager, Praise is really on the ball and takes a very proactive role in not only making sure the day to day operations run smoothly, but also in keeping us informed and making sure we were happy. We have had two care companies for my mum prior to coming over to Myrtle. And these are wonderful. My mum is stage 4 cancer and they are so caring. Praise is a wonderful lady. She really cares. So are all her team. The care that they have been giving my mum has helped me feel less stressed. And I know my mum is in capable and caring hands. Thank you so much
